Inbox Zero Trial

A squeaky clean Inbox

A squeaky clean Inbox

Dear Diary,

Today I vow to commit to Inbox Zero, I will purge my old habits and surrender to the Zen masters teachings to achieve stress free productivity and free myself from the clutches of Inboxication.

But the starting is the problem, I feel attached to my old methods, my old ways, my old files and my old Inbox. I find it difficult to detach from this old familiar way even though know it’s not good for me. But then I remember that famous quote from that famous comedian, Jerry Seinfeld “Just treat it like a band aid, RIP IT OFF!”.

And so with an iron clad mouse I begin to act without detachment. I remove myself from the pain of what I might miss in those folders I last viewed 6 months ago. I take a deep breath and begin to move all my old folders to one Archive folder for emails that need saving for future reference. Then I create 3 new folders DO, DEFER, DELEGATED….simple.

I install RescueTime which will help me to monitor where I spend my time and how often and how long I check my email for. I promise to stay on the bus no matter what and I will avoid the temptation to revert back to my old habits. I will review my progress every month and share with you the wins and losses along the way. Here we go…..Dear Diary,
